The Cats

Bob
Our senior, Brown Tabby, working cat. He was born the spring of 2008 in the neighbours backyard at our previous address. Bob turned in his feral card and retired when he moved into the big house here in NOTL.

Grace
“Princess” Grace has Tortitude down to a fine art. Grace is an apricot toned Torbie Norwegian Forest Cat. She came into my life right after my soulmate cat, Pink, went missing (this is still, and will be until I die, fresh). Grace was still a kitten hanging out in the doorway of my regular coffee shop. The staff thought she may have been Pink. The spring of 2013, I scooped her up on the spot, didn’t even stop for my coffee, and took her home.

Pyrite
This story is still so weird and random. In 2016, I was working our farmers’ market in Fort Erie, and heard to my left on the sidewalk, “I took them out for fresh air”. I saw two cat carriers on the roof of a run-down car loaded with Siamese kittens. The breeder had become homeless and was living out of her car with 9 kittens and two adult female Siamese cats. She gifted me an 8 week old seal point Siamese kitten. Even though I offered her money, produce, preserves to help her out, she flatly refused. It was a heartbreaking situation. Pyrite is a tiny neurotic cat with a Napolean complex.

Barbie & Mable
These two sisters are semi-feral foster fails from NOTL Cats here in town. They came to us as fosters in 2023 to prepare them for their forever homes with another family. Well, we failed, and they stayed. Barbie, the gray spotted Torbie is totally the “Come on Barbie, Let’s go Party” girl. Mable, a magnificent, black marbled Torbie, is silently plotting to take over the ruling of the other inhabitants of The House of Elsie, then the world. As a benevolent leader of course, with the occasional love bite to keep us all in line.
